For one rep max deadlift...Does the barbell need to be set back down on ground or can they drop when at stand up position?

Need to set it back down. More of a controlled drop.

I finally made it back...not that I was any good. I DL 185#, at which point GNC told me to stop b/c I was leaning to the left to stay off my right leg. And I'm slow. Really slow. I did 6 rounds, and we kept the DL at 135# so that I didn't hurt myself (not that I have a habit of doing that or anything--noooooo...) It was fun, though, and I will return to form at some point, I hope.

Wendy and Katie both have new deadlift PR at 255#. And yes we set it back down on the ground.

Congrats to Katie and Wendy (now officially known as "K&W")and "The Hound" for their new PRs. The comment from K&W sounded like they set the weight down very gently like nice young ladies. And finally it would appear that the Wabbitt may have a little pussycat running through her genes. This has to be at least the 4th or 5th time back from the dead. So Wabbitt be careful you only have by my math, at best, 5 more lives to burn. Welcome back Wabbitt and Hound quite sending me your favorite Wabbitt recipe's.MP

For all who check the blog on Saturday's, one of our readers, and close friend/training partner of mine, known to us as "SS", is fighting in his third amateur MMA fight this evening. Fighting for the second time at 155#, he is part of an all amateur fight card happening at the Crown Arena tonight. I would say wish him luck, but in reality I know his work ethic, heart and skill will carry him through to victory. Fight hard, SS, and bring home a W.
