Savage, I read over your Andrew's email, but I find it difficult to come up with things for people I don't know. The only remotely creative thing I could think of was to have them fast for 7 days before arriving to the day of the event and then have them carry a log shaped like a + for a couple of miles. Afterwords I would have them choose their most obvious enemy and have them go to their house and mow their yard for time.
